You can apply for a grant if:
- You are the parent/carer of a child aged between 0 and 24*
- You are the parent/carer of a child or a young person with a disability or serious illness
- The child or young person is not in the care of the local authority or in foster care
- You have lived in the UK for the past six months
- You are on a low income or receiving benefits
- Your child or young person needs high levels of support in at least three areas of our child and young person eligibility criteria

What do I need?
As part of your application you will need to upload some supporting documents. It’s good to have these to hand when you start. We will need to see documents about:
Your income
Either:
- a copy of your most recent benefit award letter, or
- your last three months of payslips.
Your child
- your child’s disability benefits
- their support learning plan
- any professional reports detailing the additional support your disabled or seriously ill child receives.

How do I apply?
Applying through our online application form is the quickest and easiest way to make an application. Online applications also take less time to process, so you may receive your grant decision more quickly.
Please note that you will only be able to access the online application form when there is grant funding available for the country where you live. The application form is currently closed to new applications in Wales.
