Beavers Leader & Team Members Volunteer opportunities (SO14)

About this opportunity

Southampton City Scouts are starting up a new group in Newtown, SO14 and are looking for proactive and positive volunteers to form a new team.

Are you a Gingerbread baker? Den-maker? Whatever your skills, we want you to join the adventure and help our eager six to eight year old Beavers gain skills for life. One session you might be exploring the great outdoors. And the next? Learning new things right on your doorstep.

We’re all about teamwork here at Scouts. In the Beavers team, you might be planning their first ever trip to the seaside. Or, maybe you’ll help mentor your fellow volunteers. Struggling with communication or organisation? Not a problem – the beauty of volunteering in a team means there’s likely someone who can help you out. And that’s what volunteering with us is all about!

By helping out, you’ll be creating lifelong memories for our Beavers. And when they’re ready, you’ll send them off to become courageous Cubs, eager to reach new heights on their journey with Scouts.

A typical weekday session might look something like:

  • Running adventurous activities and gleeful games
  • Helping and supporting young people
  • Chatting and collaborating with fellow volunteers and parents and carers.

The Beavers will be meeting on either a Tuesday or Thursday evening from approx 6pm each week in term time.

About Hampshire Scouts

Every week, we give more than 18,900 young people in Hampshire, aged 4-25, the skills they need for life. But with thousands on our waiting list, we’re looking for more volunteers to join an unstoppable force for good.
