Social Media & Storytelling Lead

About this opportunity

ROLE GUIDE: Social Media & Storytelling Lead

The Krystal Klear Foundation

Direct Report: Jason Frigot (Founder)

Status: Voluntary / Lead Volunteer (Transitioning to Paid Employment upon funding)

Location: Remote / Flexible (Attendance at some Southampton sessions preferred)

🎨 THE MISSION

The Krystal Klear Foundation is a grassroots organisation dedicated to supporting youth mental health through creative “paths”—Art, Music, and Horticulture.

As we transition into a Registered Charity (CIO) and hunt for our permanent ÂŁ300,000 “Industrial Hub,” we need a creative storyteller to help us build our community online. We aren’t just looking for someone to “post pictures”; we want someone to help us define the “Krystal Klear” voice and show the world the power of creative therapy.

📸 THE SCOPE OF THE ROLE

1. Content Creation & Strategy

  • Visual Storytelling: Capture (or coordinate the capture of) photos and videos of our three paths—Art, Music, and Gardening—ensuring they reflect the peace and energy of our sessions.
  • Platform Management: Lead our presence on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, tailoring the message to each audience (from local parents to corporate donors).
  • The “Krystal Klear” Voice: Develop a consistent tone that is authentic, hopeful, and supportive, avoiding “clinical” or “corporate” language.

2. Community Engagement

  • Southampton Pulse: Engage with local Southampton community groups, partners, and other mental health advocates to build our local network.
  • Reputation Management: Respond to comments and messages with empathy and speed, acting as the friendly “front door” to the Foundation.

3. Ethics & Safeguarding

  • Consent First: Work closely with the Safeguarding Lead to ensure every photo or story shared respects the privacy and consent of our young people.
  • Sensitivity: Ensure that all content related to mental health is handled with care, focus on resilience, and follows our ethical communication guidelines.

✨ PERSON SPECIFICATION

We are looking for a digital native—someone who loves creative content but understands the responsibility of talking about mental health.

Core Competencies:

  • Creative Eye: Experience with basic photo/video editing (Canva, CapCut, or similar).
  • Digital Savvy: A deep understanding of trends, hashtags, and how to drive engagement on social platforms.
  • Empathy: An understanding of the sensitivities involved in youth mental health and the ability to communicate with warmth.
  • Reliability: The ability to post consistently and stay in the loop with the Foundation’s weekly “Focus List.”

⏰ COMMITMENT

  • Weekly: Approx. 2–4 hours per week (Flexible).
  • Meetings: One short monthly update with the Founder to align on the upcoming “Strategic Sprint.”
  • Term: We are looking for someone to help us through our registration phase and the launch of our new “Industrial Hub” (6+ months).

🚀 WHY THIS ROLE?

This isn’t a “shadow” role. You will be building a brand from the ground up. Your work will be the reason a young person in Southampton finds the courage to reach out, or a donor decides to support our ÂŁ300k building fund. You’ll be part of a team that values creativity as much as you do.

Future Opportunity: While this role begins as a voluntary founding position, it is our strategic intent to transition this into a paid employment position once the Foundation achieves its initial capital funding and operational targets for the Industrial Hub.
