Join our FREE Construction Career Starter Programme in Southampton and gain industry-recognised training, practical experience, and direct access to interviews with local employers.

As you can see from the programme, if you do already hold a CSCS card this will not be available to you.

You also need to have a Southampton postcode.

Programme Structure – .

Training includes:

Week 1 – Employability & Industry Readiness

  • Introduction to the construction industry
  • Understanding site roles and employer expectations
  • Emergency First Aid awareness
  • Workplace behaviours and communication
  • Health & Safety awareness
  • Teamwork and professionalism
  • CV writing and interview preparation
  • Employment and progression support

Week 2 – Construction Skills & Site Safety

Delivered in partnership with an accredited construction training providers.

Candidates complete introductory construction and safety training including:

  • Manual Handling
  • Underground Apparatus Awareness (HSG47)
  • Cable Avoidance Tools & Signal Generators
  • Safe Digging Practices
  • PPE Inspection and Safe Use
  • Safe Use of Hand Held Power Tools
  • Abrasive Wheels & Petrol Cut-off Saws
  • Construction Site Safety Essentials
  • The final two days focus on:
  • CSCS Health & Safety preparation
  • Mock testing and revision
  • CSCS touchscreen test support
