About Southampton Sunday Lunch Project

The Southampton Sunday Lunch Project is an independent registered charity and has been operating for over 30 years and provides, to the needy on a ‘no-questions asked’, non-referral basis, a free, cooked 2 or 3 course meal every Sunday of the year. We run entirely by about 100 volunteers and provide typically over 100 lunches and takeways from 2 centres, St Denys and Woolston. We are funded entirely by financial gifts from individuals and local organizations and also receive some food donations from businesses and charitable food donation networks. In 2023 we were honoured to be recipients of the Kings Award for Voluntary Service, one of only four winners in Hampshire that year
