About the Role
We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to support and encourage the public to engage with us at small, fetes and fayres. This could be running a human fruit machine with two other volunteers, running a dream catcher activity, or something similar.
- Community-based in your local area
As the fetes and Fayre volunteer role is community focused, you’ll play an important role in helping us build relationships with fundraisers and supporters in your local area. Whether you’re attending events, thanking supporters, delivering fundraising resources or sharing local insight, you’ll help ensure fundraisers feel appreciated and connected to the impact they’re having.
- Flexible time commitment
This is a flexible, ongoing volunteer opportunity that can fit around your existing commitments.
What You’ll Be Doing
You could support us in a variety of ways, including:
- Attending fundraising events and representing Rose Road in your local area.
- Thanking supporters and organisers.
- Delivering and collecting fundraising materials and resources.
- Sharing local knowledge and helping identify potential fundraising or partnership opportunities.
- Providing occasional support to Community Fundraisers with other local fundraising activities and events.
We recognise that every volunteer brings different strengths, experiences and interests, and aspects of the role can be tailored accordingly.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for people who:
- Are enthusiastic about supporting the work of Rose Road Association.
- Enjoy meeting and communicating with a variety of people.
- Have a friendly, positive and people-centred approach.
- Feel comfortable working independently, while knowing support is available when needed.
- Have basic IT skills and access to email and a phone.
- Are willing and able to travel locally to support fundraising activities.
Experience in fundraising or volunteering is helpful but not essential. We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of physical and medical disability, either directly or through a family member, although this is not a requirement.
Why Volunteer with Us?
By volunteering with us, you will:
- Play a direct role in supporting the fundraising that helps us achieve our mission to continue providing life-enriching support.
- Help Rose Road maintain a visible and supportive presence your community.
- Meet new people and become part of a supportive team.
- Develop communication, relationship-building and community engagement skills.
- Gain valuable experience within fundraising and the charity sector.
- Ongoing support and reimbursement of reasonable out-of-pocket expenses.
Time Commitment
This is an ongoing volunteer role with a flexible commitment based on your availability and local opportunities. Support may be required on weekdays, evenings and weekends, depending on the activities you choose to get involved in.
