October and November 2026 Funding Opportunities for Charities and Community Groups

About this opportunity

  1. Reaching Communities England Grant Ongoing every 3 months

  • Project location: England
  • Amount: £20,001 to £1,000,000
  • A decision in: 40 weeks
  • Programme status: Open to applications

With this funding, we want to help strengthen communities and improve lives across England.

Our funding is available to all communities. But our priority is the places, people and communities that need it most.

When we say ‘community’, we mean people who live in the same area. Or people with similar interests or life experiences, even if they do not live in the same area.

How much you can ask for

You can apply for £20,001 or more, for projects lasting up to 5 years.

We fund a range of projects and organisations varying in size and amount. For example, we gave:

  • £155,000 over 3 years to a single organisation to deliver health and wellbeing support in their community, including advice on benefits and debt and dementia prevention services
  • £500,000 over 5 years to a partnership project focusing on early intervention for children and young people facing multiple disadvantages, including youth homelessness, substance misuse, and limited local resources
  • £1 million over 4 years to an organisation to organise, co-design and run programmes with deprived communities that meet their needs and priorities

2. Help the Homeless Grants. Ongoing every 3 months

Grants of up to £5,000 are available for projects that help homeless people rebuild their lives and move towards a return to mainstream society – click here to find out more

Applying for funding

We are a small trust with limited funds available. Please check carefully that both your organisation and your project meet our criteria before making an application.

Criteria

  • Your organisation must be registered with the Charity Commission in England, Wales or Northern Ireland or a registered Scottish Charity.

  • Our funding is restricted to small charities with an annual turnover of less than £500,000.

  • We are only able to help charities working wholly or mostly with homeless people – we don’t fund general community work, foodbanks or projects that are not focussed on homelessness.

  • We can only accept applications towards the funding of capital projects. We are unable to accept applications towards running/core costs or salaries. Note: we are also unable to consider requests for computers and IT equipment.

  • We provide small grants of up to £5,000. We do not consider multi-year requests.

  • There should be a minimum period of two years between the receipt of a decision or grant from us and making a further application.

APPLICATION FORM

All applicants must complete our online application form. Please note we no longer accept applications by post or email.

Deadlines for applications

The quarterly deadlines for applications for funding each year are: 5pm on 20th March/20th June/20th September/20th December.
