Relaunch of the Churches Rent Deposit Scheme 2026

About this opportunity

A fund to support people at risk of homelessness has been relaunched again in 2025.

The Rent Deposit Scheme, originally set up by local churches in Southampton, is designed to assist individuals on low income or in receipt of welfare benefits who require financial support to access privately rented accommodation in the City of Southampton. The scheme is funded by Southampton City Council.

All referrals must be made by a recognised agency. Please find the referral form here or email rentdeposit@citylife.org.uk

If you would like to get involved and donate to the Rent Deposit Scheme, or Hope into Action, helping people access housing to avoid or move on from homelessness, please get in contact via the City Life website: www.citylife.org.uk
