Rosy Christmas Volunteer

About this opportunity

About the Role

We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to support and encourage the public to engage with us at the second anniversary of our all-day singing event, Rosy Christmas on Saturday 12th December 2026.

  • Community-based in your local area

Rosy Christmas is a small and very welcoming event where choirs from across Hampshire are singing in support of Rose Road. It takes place in Whiteley Shopping Centre between 8:30am and 7:30pm

  • Flexible time commitment

This is a flexible, one-off volunteer opportunity. You do not need to do the whole day! That would be a lot. Instead, let us know when you could come along and lend a hand, we’d really appreciate it. Ideally it would be either 8:30am-2pm or 2pm-7:30pm

What You’ll Be Doing

You could support us in a variety of ways, including:

  • Running a human fruit machine with two other volunteers, running a dream catcher activity, or something similar.
  • Guiding the choirs on and off the stage
  • Bucket collecting with a partner.

We recognise that every volunteer brings different strengths, experiences and interests, and aspects of the role can be tailored accordingly.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for people who:

  • Are enthusiastic about supporting the work of Rose Road Association.
  • Enjoy meeting and communicating with a variety of people.
  • Have a friendly, positive and people-centred approach.
  • Feel comfortable working independently, while knowing support is available when needed.
  • Have basic IT skills and access to email and a phone.
  • Are willing and able to travel locally to support fundraising activities.

Experience in fundraising or volunteering is helpful but not essential. We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of physical and medical disability, either directly or through a family member, although this is not a requirement.
