Squirrel Scout Leaders

About this opportunity

We are looking for a Squirrel Leaders to join a team and to help run and organise sessions for our brand-new Squirrel section for 4 to 6 year old boys and girls.

Our Squirrels will get involved in lots of different activities from arts & crafts, cooking, science experiments, stories, various games and even camping.

Some activities will be working towards earning badges whilst other tasks will be just for fun.

Our volunteers will undertake some essential training that is mainly online learning in addition to carrying out a DBS check. On-going training will be available and the opportunity to earn qualifications in some skilled activities if of interest.

You do not need previous Scouting experience, just enthusiasm and the ability to work in a team.

The sessions will potentially take place from 17:00 – 18:00 on Wednesday, but this is to be confirmed once we have a complete team in place and they decide when is convenient to them. Attending once a week for term time only is what we are ideally looking for. However, if you would prefer to volunteer less often, please do still get in touch as we can be flexible.

You will be a confident communicator who is able to work as part of a team. With the ability to engage with 4-6 year olds. No previous Scouting experience is needed. Training and support will be given.

If you would like to support young people in your community to learn skills for life and would like to know more, please get in touch.
