SSAFA, which stands for the Soldiers’, Sailors’, and Airmen’s Families Association, is a UK charity established in 1885. It is dedicated to supporting members of the armed forces, veterans, and their families in times of need. The charity operates through a network of over 3,400 volunteers and professional staff, assisting more than 66,000 individuals each year.

SSAFA provides a wide range of services, including:

  • Welfare Support: SSAFA offers practical and emotional support to individuals facing difficulties, including financial assistance, housing advice, and access to healthcare services. 

    Transitional Mentoring: The charity provides mentoring for those transitioning out of the armed forces, helping them adjust to civilian life and access necessary resources. 

    Specialist Services: SSAFA also offers specialized support for specific needs, such as mental health services and assistance for families of injured or deceased service members. How to Access Support
