Support for Tenants, living in Council, Housing Associations or Leasehold Properties in Southampton

About this opportunity

Many people who turn to community and advice organisations are living in homes that directly impact their physical and mental health. Our aim is to ensure they receive the repairs, support, and guidance they are legally entitled to – at no cost to them and without creating additional work for your team.
Our service provides:

  • Free property inspections and professional housing disrepair assessments
    • Legal support through our panel of SRA-regulated solicitors to ensure repairs are completed and, where appropriate, compensation is secured
    • Practical assistance to help residents resolve housing issues effectively
    • Interpreters and translators for those who need language support
As an FCA-authorised organisation, we oversee the entire process – from inspection through to solicitor referral – ensuring every case is managed
professionally, transparently, and in the resident’s best interests.
Why this matters: Cold, damp, or unsafe homes can worsen or trigger health conditions such as asthma, COPD, and anxiety. From October 2025,
new duties under Awaab’s Law will require landlords to carry out urgent repairs within stricter timeframes, helping to improve tenant safety and
    wellbeing.
How we can support your organisation:
  • Escalate unresolved housing complaints
    • Arrange professional inspections to evidence disrepair
    • Connect residents with experienced solicitors for legal assistance
    • Support community wellbeing by addressing unsafe housing early
Referrals: Referrals can be made directly by staff or volunteers with the individual’s consent. Residents can also self-refer. We can provide printed
leaflets or digital materials for display or client distribution.
