The Blue Lamp Trust is seeking to appoint new Trustees in 2026 to strengthen Board capability and support future growth. The Trust is particularly interested in candidates with:
- Experience in local community organisations or supporting vulnerable people
- Skills in HR, finance, marketing, fundraising, IT and general corporate law
Priority will be given to those with experience in Finance and Legal to support current vacancies on the board, however we welcome applications from anyone with an interest in supporting the charity.
Previous experience as a charity Trustee would be beneficial and strong connections to Hampshire and the Isle of Wight would be expected.
Purpose & Vision
The charity supports residents across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, with a mission to ensure that vulnerable people feel safe and secure in their homes and online. We have an additional ambition to improve road safety nationally, delivering driver training through a wholly owned trading subsidiary, BLT Driver Training.
Trustee Role and Commitment
Trustees play a pivotal role in setting strategy, ensuring good governance, and safeguarding the Trust’s values and impact. The Board typically meets four times a year at our offices in Eastleigh, with some online access possible. There are also opportunities to contribute through sub‑committees or informal working groups. The initial term is 3 years with the potential extension of 2 terms.
