About Fareshare Southern Central

About Felix Southern Central Established in 2014, Felix (formerly FareShare) Southern Central provides good quality surplus food – which might otherwise go to waste – to around 150 charities and community organisations across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, as well as parts of Dorset too. The charities we support include breakfast clubs, food banks and pantries, lunch clubs for older people, homeless shelters, day centres, and community cafés. Many of these provide wraparound services to help with issues including debt, mental health and addiction. We work closely with the food and drink industry and local supporters to ensure that no good food goes to waste, with day-to-day operations from our warehouse in Southampton made possible thanks to a hardworking team of volunteers.  In addition to redistributing food to charities and groups across the region, Felix Southern Central also operates its own weekly larders. These mobile food larders run in partnership with other local anti-poverty services and are specifically designed to support areas where residents have limited access to services. It would be impossible for Felix Southern Central to carry out this vital work without a dedicated team of volunteers and we are always looking for new people to join us. Full training will be given, so if you have time to spare and are interested in joining a busy, supportive team of volunteers, please get in touch.
