Volunteer Part Time Debt Adviser

About this opportunity

We are looking for a compassionate individual to join our team at St Albans Church, Swaythling on a Wednesday or Thursday to provide in person debt advice.

Previous advice experience is desirable but not essential.

Applicants will need to be available to spend approximately 3 hours a week completing case work at home on a laptop provided by Frontline. There would also be occasional training sessions to attend, some online, some in person.

Applicants will need to have the following qualities/skills:

  • non-judgemental, patient
  • friendly and able to build trust with vulnerable adults.
  • Good administration and time management skills
  • Basic IT skills – Able to use Microsoft Word and Excel and work with a paperless case management system.
  • A willingness to learn, research an issue and adapt to the unique challenges of each case.
  • A team player.
  • Able to communicate money matters to vulnerable adults in a way they can understand, and which empowers them.
  • Able to manage your own personal finances.
