We are really excited to share with you that we are composing a Palliative and End of Life Care Strategy and Delivery Plan (for across Hampshire, Southampton, Portsmouth, & the Isle of Wight) and hope you may take some time to have a look or get in touch to discuss what you feel and think about it.
Some of our wonderful community partners have already very kindly met with Gaby and shared your thoughts about what should be included in a strategy. We hope you will see these suggestions are reflected in the attached and wish to see if there is anything else we can alter to better reflect what really matters to you, your loved ones, those you may care for or work with.
We appreciate that some prefer to send comments in and that would be great. Others may wish to have a chat or to invite one of us to come along to one of your groups to hear what you wish to share with us. Whatever works best for you – just let us know and we will aim to support you.
As you review, it would be great if you could consider:
- What matters most to you?
- What does good look like?
- What does the end of life mean to you? – with this one, we have been debating whether the focus should be last 12 months of life or something else?
As you have a look, we welcome all feedback, however, we are aware that:
- it is not yet all in plain English
- not all the formatting is quite right yet
- there isn’t an easy-read guide as yet
- there is probably lots more 😊
We have some lovely communication colleagues who are going to help with this, as we near final draft – however always grateful for any thoughts or suggestions for making anything easier or clearer (and picking up typo’s).
We also wanted to share that these documents are just one of a few things we hope you may consider getting involved in. No pressure – do feel free to ignore, get involved in one or all 😊
