Veg Out Pop-Up Community Vegan Café in Portswood

About this , opportunity

Veg Out Pop-Up Community Vegan Café, October Books, 159 Portswood Rd, SO17 2NF

We are a community cafe providing a focal point for groups and individuals to meet and socialise in a friendly and supportive environment. We see the purpose of the Cafe as being a place for promoting strong community ties, combating social isolation and providing access to a nutritious hot meal for people hit by the cost of living crisis.

All our meals are cooked from scratch, using fresh ingredients. The Cafe is not-for-profit and is run entirely by volunteers. Meals are free but donations are welcome from those who can afford them. The Cafe runs on Mondays from 11.45 am to 3.30 pm.

Many of our customers come from disadvantaged groups and for the past year we have also been running as an officially recognised Warm space for the winter months.

Volunteers needed: We’re always on the lookout for committed volunteers to help out at our cafe on Mondays. Volunteering opportunities include serving at tables, clearing up, washing up, prepping food and more. You can volunteer for the whole day or for a few hours. We look forward to hearing from you.
